Emily Warburton Hadfield, 92, died peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2012. She was born October 1, 1919 to John and Pauline Hadfield in Grouse Creek, Utah, where she enjoyed her childhood on a ranch; she cherished those memories the rest of her life.
She completed her elementary education in Grouse Creek, then moved to Brigham City where she graduated from Box Elder High School. She attended Weber College before beginning her business career at Bushnell Hospital.
She spent most of her working career as a secretary with the Civil Service in the medical field. Her work took her to Salt Lake City, Utah, Palo Alto, and San Francisco, California and Honolulu, Hawaii. At the time of her retirement, she was working for the Medical School at the University of Utah. She resided in Centerville for many years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life.
Emily was the fourth child in a family of nine children. She was preceded in death by Herman and Delbert Hadfield; Mary H. Mann, Ellen H. Kelley, and Thelma (Larsen) Olson. She is survived by three brothers: John (Kathryn), Reed (Darlene), and Richard (Loretta) Hadfield. Emily had a loving and kind influence on all of her numerous nieces and nephews, and they all loved her dearly.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday, February 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. prior to the funeral.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
