Dorothy Carol Henderson Theobald
June 22, 1927 ~ August 21, 2012
Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, Dorothy Carol Henderson Theobald, passed away peacefully at her home in Orem, Utah on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 with her loving husband at her side. Dorothy was born June 22, 1927 to Warren Henderson and Artemisia Henrie in Delta, Utah. She married Paul H. Theobald on December 15, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Dorothy was a faithful member of The Church of Latter-day Saints and held many callings including Relief Society president, ward organist, and teacher. After her mother’s death, Dorothy served in her stead, working with her father for his last six months as Mission President of the Northern States Mission. She also served missions to Madrid, Spain; and Laie, Hawaii with her husband.
Dorothy graduated from Delta High School and attended BYU before marrying Paul, her high school sweetheart. She worked as a secretary for Delta City, Millard County, and Delta High School, as a legal secretary, and as bookkeeper for Paul’s numerous ventures throughout their marriage.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Paul; their son: Michael (Shauna) Theobald; sister: Jonel (Ted) Nielsen; grandchildren: Jonathan (Jenni), Jae (Beth), Jenna (Cory) Broadbent, and Tyler (Jessie) Theobald; her 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; all of whom Grandma Dot loved ‘more than the whole, wide world.’ She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother: Bill Henderson.
The family gives special thanks to the staff at Hearts for Hospice and to the many friends and neighbors who helped Paul care for Dorothy during her final years.
Services will be held in two locations on Friday, August 24. In Orem Sunset Heights Stake Center, 1260 S 400 W, a viewing from 10:00-10:45 AM with services from 11:00 AM- noon. In Delta, at Nickle Mortuary, 190 S Center Street, a viewing from 3:15-3:45 PM with services from 3:45-4:20 PM. Interment will follow in the Delta City Cemetery.

Im so sorry to hear of Sister Dorothy's passing. She was a wonderful woman and a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren. I know she will be missed. I pray that she is resting in peace.
