Ford Petersen Reeder
(May 6, 1951 - October 25, 2010)

“Man Among Menâ€

Ford Petersen Reeder passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him at his home on Monday October 25, 2010 after an extended battle with colon cancer.

He was born on May 6, 1951 in Brigham City, Utah to Harold Wilford Reeder and Mary Petersen. Ford was raised in Brigham City, Utah where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. While in Brigham City he met, courted and ultimately wedded his high school sweetheart, Dianne Bush, on March 19, 1970 and was sealed in the Logan Temple. Together they raised five children. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Ford was always known as a hard worker. He ultimately ran a successful business as a real estate appraiser for 30 years. He served faithfully in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in many capacities. His real passion was in working with the youth of the Church. Ford also enjoyed many travels with his wife and family. These travels took them from Hawaii to Israel and many places in between. He was passionate about cooking, tirelessly working to perfect his recipes. He had a gift for influencing people's lives for good and always left people uplifted, with a desire to be better.

Ford fought a courageous battle with cancer for over 11 years without ever going into remission. We give heartfelt thanks to the many medical professionals who helped along the way.

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Dianne Bush Reeder; five children: Natalie (Travis) Ashby, Christina (Duane) Beus, Jason (Kassy) Reeder, Jeffrey (Tami) Reeder, and Justin (Ashley) Reeder; 13 grandchildren; many “adopted childrenâ€; and four siblings: Shirley (Larry) Paulson, Kathryn (Val) Paulsen, Cordell (Ruth) Reeder, and Boyd (Rebecca) Reeder. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed!

Funeral services will be held Friday October 29, 2010 at 11:00am at the River Ridge Stake Center located at 10194 S. 1000 W., South Jordan, Utah.

Viewings will be held on Thursday from 6:00-8:00pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley located at 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah and on Friday one hour prior to services.

Interment will be at Brigham City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wells Fargo Ford Reeder Donations account.
