
Junior Niels Williamson
December 21, 1926 ~ April 14, 2011
Junior Niels Williamson, lifetime resident of American Fork, passed away on April 14, 2011 at the age of 84.
Junior was born December 21, 1926 the son of Christion John and Ruby Elizabeth Phillips Williamson, he was the 9th of 10 children.
He married Gladys Rona Grant December 11, 1946, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 16, 1958.
Junior served in WWII in the U.S. Navy.
Junior was an active member of the LDS Church, he served in 2 bishoprics and many other ward callings.
Junior and Gladys were proud to have 18 children live with them over a 30 year period working with the Indian placement program. They were also happy to fill in as parents for a niece and nephews when they lost their parents at a young age. Junior is well known for his kindness and generosity.
Junior served on the American Fork City Council. Junior worked for US Steel for 38 years. After his retirement, he pursued activities and work as a handyman and remodeler. He loved to garden and travel. Junior loved his family and enjoyed reunions, family gatherings, and steel mill luncheons until the very end.
Survivors include his children: Grant (Christine) Williamson; Joel (Karen) Williamson; Shirlee Silversmith; Teresa (Curtis) Frazier; his brothers Roy Williamson and Norman (Naomi) Williamson; his sisters Francis Schoulsen and Ann (George) Gardner; 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and a special friend Jewel Murdock.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Gladys, his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Utah.
Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.

I will miss seeing him and getting hugs from him at family reunions. He will be missed. Myfamily will be praying for Uncle Jr.'s family.
